Did you know that you can download and install Android apps like Zoom right to your SMART iQ experience? Did you know you can share your SMART iQ screen through Zoom for students attending your classroom virtually?
The SMART iQ Experience allows you to use your SMART Interactive Flat Panel (6000, 7000 & MX series) without a computer attached. The iQ experience has a variety of built-in features such as whiteboarding, displaying files, accessing a web browser, screen sharing other devices, installing android applications, and much much more.
With the popularity of using Zoom video conferencing for remote and hybrid classrooms, the ability to add the Zoom application to your SMART IFP to use without a computer can be a valuable tool to connect students and present your screen to share everything students would see being in the physical classroom.
Check out the video below demonstrating how to screen share your iQ experience over a Zoom meeting.
Key things to consider:
- The Zoom app can be downloaded and added to your home screen from the “Apps” section of your iQ experience.
- For Zoom participants to be able to see and hear you, you must plug in a web-camera to one of the USB ports built into your SMART Interactive Flat Panel.
- Using the share screen function from Zoom will allow you to leave the application, and allow the students in the video conference to see anything you open on your SMART iQ experience.
- If you are not using your computer connected to the SMART IFP, you can always use the secondary device to chat and see your students as well.
- If you are connecting to Zoom with multiple devices in the same location, make sure the microphone is muted on one of them to avoid feedback.
