Using add-ons for your Google Apps can help you and your students get even more out of each app. Add-ons like Kaizena, Easy-bib, Doctopus, and Flubaroo can help increase efficiency, streamline workflow, and expand the functionality of the individual Google apps. We model using many of these in classroom relevant situations in our Online PD courses. You can also install add-ons that help students improve their higher order thinking skills, or just practice something fun during down time in class. Sudoku in Google Sheets is perfect for this! Simply open a new Google sheet and you can add any level of Sudoku puzzle directly to a sheet.

Whatever the usage, games like Sudoku can help students improve their attention span and enhance their problem solving and memory skills. Because they are easy to add into a Google sheets, Sudoku Sheets makes for a great independent activity for students.

Using Sudoku Sheets

To access Sudoku, open a new Google Sheet. Choose “Add-ons” followed by “Get Add-ons” in the menu bar. Search for “Sudoku Sheets” and add by clicking on the blue “+ Free” button in the top right. Once added you can access Sudoku Sheets from the same “Add-on” menu in a new Google Sheet.

Following the steps in the image above, you and your students can add a sudoku based on your skill level, from easy to insane! Students can also use other features like assisted mode or check puzzle to help them complete the puzzle. Finally, you can check your work by choosing “Solve”.

Students of all ages, and teachers, will enjoy this fun add-on for Google Sheets! Happy puzzling!
