Teq’s popular Online PD is now available to educators with an annual subscription
HUNTINGTON STATION, NY – July, 2, 2018 – Teq Online PD (Opd), a leading professional development (PD) provider for educators, announced new individual license subscriptions for educators across the U.S. Previously, the PD service was licensed directly to schools and districts, who then deployed the PD to their staff.
Announced at the 2018 ISTE conference, individual licenses to Opd are expected to garner much attention. Educators rely on professional development not only to give them skills in new technologies, tools, and teaching strategies, but also to maintain their state teaching certifications. State requirements for teacher certifications differ across the United States, but Opd has earned CTLE, Act 48, and CPE approval in New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas, respectively. They have also developed a resource to assist educators as they navigate their individual State-mandated professional development requirements.
Technology Integration Specialist Trish Hinchman at the West Islip School District says that, “The flexibility [of Opd] is a huge benefit…because not only can [teachers] take courses whenever they want, but they can choose whatever topics they want. It’s organized…and there’s a huge variety of courses… They’re not only specific to just the technology itself, but about how to use it in the classroom.”
Educators with individual licenses have access to all of the content on the Opd platform. They can join live PD sessions (broadcast 2-4 times a week) and interact with the instructor via live webchat for maximum engagement. Educators also have access to the over 500 courses in the Opd library, and the ability to view these courses at any time. This flexibility is one of the major strengths of the platform; the other is the breadth of content that is available. From courses that focus on instructional software, to sessions on 3D printing, project-based learning, Google Apps for Education, robotics, coding, and just about everything in between – the mission of each session is to equip the educator with knowledge, skills, and inspiration that they can bring back to the classroom.
